E499 - HAZARDOUS MATERIALS TRAIN-THE-TRAINER (TTT)
July 17-21, 1995
A HazMat TTT is scheduled at the National Emergency Training Center the week
of July 17-21, 1995.
This TTT is designed to qualify instructors to conduct three field courses:
Hazardous Materials Contingency Planning (HMCP), Hazardous Materials: An
Introduction for Public Officials, and Introduction to Hazardous Materials
Preparedness.
The course covers emergencies involving transportation, use, storage, and
disposal of hazardous materials and episodic releases of air-toxic chemicals
from fixed-site facilities.
Additional topics include standard of care and a review of G301 Introduction
to Hazardous Materials Preparedness course and the workshop materials from the
G305 WEM series. However, the focus of this course is on the TTT issues
associated with delivery of the field courses. It does not provide content
delivery.
All participants in the TTT must have taken the HMCP course in the field prior
to enrolling in the TTT. As of February 23, 13 enrollees had been accepted.
There is space for a total of 30 participants.
As EMI moves to phase out most TTT courses, the July offering is the last
offering of E499. As course manager, I encourage you to make a special
recruitment effort for candidates from States with weak HazMat training
cadres.
If you have any questions about this last opportunity to send people to E499,
contact the course manager, Gloria Goble, at (301) 447-1334.
